Quicksilver Running is the operating name of KBC Special Events Limited, an events company established in 1993 by Race Director Peter Wedderburn. KBC organised its first mass participation race in 2013 and has since developed into 100% running event organisation. The Hampton Court Half was the original Half Marathon to run in the area and the 2019 race will be the 6th in the series. From 2018 KBC adopted the Quicksilver Running name to cover all running events and we renamed the Original Hampton Court Half Marathon to become The Quicksilver Hampton Court Half Marathon.
Peter has long experience in events management and previously organised football, rugby and business to business meetings. He is Race Director for the Quicksilver Hampton Court Half Marathon, the Harry Hawkes 10, the Ditton Dash 10k, the Royal Borough Of Kingston Half Marathon and the Royal Borough of Kingston Spring Raceday. He also acts as Race Director for two Stragglers Running Club events, the River Relay, and the Surrey League Cross Country race hosted by the club. He was previously Joint Race Director of the Richmond 13.1 Half Marathon in the inaugural race in 2013.
Peter is a member of the Stragglers Running Club and an active local mid pack runner, regularly taking part in races from 5k’s through to Marathons.
Quicksilver Event Manager Jennie Brereton has worked with the company for four years and has a senior role in our race management. Jennie runs primarily for fitness, her main sport being Womens Football. Jennie currently plays for AFC Wimbledon Ladies.
